This Fitting is shown in the middle of the picture between the 73R compass and the Laser® Compass Spider for the new control lines.  It converts the Laser® Compass Spider so that it can take the smaller 73R compass.  This solution provides a significant weight and price advantage over the Silva 103R compass.
